Jason Momoa is known to most as Khal Drogo or Aquaman. But he also had a science fiction series with a solid budget. But despite 3 seasons, hardly anyone has seen this series and that is probably the streaming service’s fault.
Which series is it? In 2019, See was released on Apple TV+. The prominent lead actor of the series is Jason Momoa, known as Khal Drogo from Game of Thrones or Aquaman.
In the world of See – Kingdom of the Blind, the majority of humanity was wiped out by a virus years ago. After the virus, all people are born blind, so they have to survive differently. Despite the dystopian future, the setting is more reminiscent of times before there was electricity and technology, as people live in tribes.
Suddenly two children are born who can see. But this brings with it many dangers.

Interesting vision of the future
The most important thing about a dystopian sci-fi series is, of course, the premise. In See, you find yourself in the future in which all people live in tribes, with pretty much no technology or electronics, which seems to have been completely destroyed or abandoned. Most people died due to a virus. The people who still populate the earth are blind.
Baba Voss, played by Jason Momoa, is the chief of such a tribe. He and his wife have two children, but both of them can see. This is not only a reason for joy, because seeing is now considered a myth or witchcraft, so he has to defend himself against other tribes and powerful opponents.
The premise is interesting because you get to know how people live without sight. The tribes are reminiscent of dystopian structures, like in Mad Max. You could also compare the tribes with the savages from Game of Thrones and the dynamics behind the wall. Of course, there are also the familiar intrigues here.
Visually, the trailer also promises interesting spectacles. Seeing the old technology and buildings overgrown is reminiscent of the new Planet of the Apes films or The Last of Us. With Jason Momoa and Dave Bautista (from season 2), there are also well-known actors who can be seen here in serious roles.
Why is there so little talk about the series? On Rotten Tomatoes, the series has a critic score of 63% from 58 reviews. Viewers are much more impressed with the series, which has a user score of 84%.
The series has one problem, however, and that is its streaming service. See – Empire of the Blind is only available on Apple TV+. The streaming service cannot be compared to Disney, Amazon and Netflix and offers a much smaller selection. With films like Killers of the Flower Moon and series like Ted Lasso, there are quality things to see. Have you seen the series and what do you think of it? Write it to us in the comments.
