2024 was another exciting year for cinema with some successful films. Many people probably think of Deadpool and Wolverine or Dune 2. But the real star of the year is a film that you might not immediately think of. The whole genre showed how successful it is this year.
How was the cinema year 2024? 2023 was Barbenheimer’s year. Barbie and Oppenheimer generated cinema hype and many visitors during a similar release period. Barbie grossed over $1.4 billion, making it the most successful film of the year (via Box Office Mojo).
There was no such cinema event in 2024. The most successful film of 2024 (as of November 29, 2024) was Inside Out 2 with box office revenue of almost $1.7 billion. This makes the film even more successful than Deadpool and Wolverine and Dune: Part Two (via Box Office Mojo). This also shows a trend that will emerge in 2024.
