A few weeks after its launch, Free is already evolving its Freebox Ultra Essential offer by including the 50 TV channels from TV by Canal in the subscription, without change in price. A gift that makes the formula even more interesting.
It’s a very nice surprise that Free has reserved for its subscribers. Especially at a time when some are insidiously increasing the price of their subscriptions without offering any real compensation. In fact, barely a month after the release of its new high-end box, the Freebox Ultra (see our article), the operator is already evolving its offering by discreetly adding a service. Thus, for several days, TV by Canal has been included in the Freebox Ultra Essentiel formula, the cheapest version (39.99 euros per month for the first year then 49.99 per month) which includes all the functions of the Freebox Ultra (speed symmetrical fiber of 8 Gbits/s, Wi-Fi 7, etc.), but without subscriptions to major streaming platforms (Netflix, Disney++ Prime Video, etc.). And the good news is that this television service is provided at no extra cost, for new and “old” subscribers alike!
A nice gift insofar as the subscription to this service is billed around 29 euros per month when it is subscribed alone. It is therefore not a discount supplement, especially since this platform includes around fifty channels according to Free – and around forty according to other sources. Here is the complete list:

Whatever the exact number, the service remains quite rich and above all very varied, with general and specialized channels: there is something for all tastes, for adults and children alike. In addition, TV by Canal is added to the approximately 220 channels included by default in the subscription, as well as the Oqee Ciné service which offers numerous films and series in streaming, always for free.
With all these advantages, the Freebox Ultra Essentiel clearly presents itself as one of the best Internet offers of the moment when we compare it to the competition, even if Wi-Fi 7 is not yet of much use to the extent where few devices can benefit from this very recent standard today. In any case, these new channels offered, with the other Free services, could make some people want to adopt this formula, at a time when streaming platforms like Netflix and Prime Video integrate advertising while driving up the price of their subscriptions…
