Shadowheart actress Jennifer English and her partner Aliona Baranova have been regularly streaming their own campaign in Baldur’s Gate 3 on Twitch since 2023. They dedicate their new stream to a viewer who died in 2024 due to an illness. But that’s not all.
How did the fan become a part of Baldur’s Gate 3? A fan named Aly was a loyal player as well as a viewer on the first day of Jennifer and Aliona’s campaign. In the most recent stream, the Shadowheart actress reports that Aly was a great person with an equally great sense of humor and that Baldur’s Gate 3 meant a lot to her.
Their exchange was short but unforgettable. They finally found out about her illness and the prognosis through a friend of the fan. They then decided to dedicate something special to Aly. Aliona says that the two contacted senior writer John Corcoran, who is primarily responsible for the characters Shadowheart and Halsin.
Corcoran then, with the approval of Larian’s CEO Swen Vincke, added a little something in the latest patch to immortalize the deceased fan in the game.

What does the tribute include? The memory of Aly is located in the third act of the game, on the upper floor of the funeral home near the cemetery in Baldur’s Gate.
In the stream, Jennifer and Aliona go to the place in question and find the letter, which is a kind of will from Aly.
The letter was written by Corcoran in the style of the game, but the content was written from Aly’s perspective. It means that the mourners’ gold should go to the strays on the street, as Aly also took in street dogs during his lifetime. The letter is also addressed by name to family members and friends, one of whom was also present in the chat.
What is the reaction? Jennifer and Aliona, as well as the Twitch chat, became quite emotional while reading it, as neither of them had seen the letter before. After a short break, a toast to Aly (with a glass of water) and a hug, the actress turns to the chat again:

What role does Baldur’s Gate 3 play in their lives? Jennifer isn’t the only person who played an important role during the RPG’s development. Aliona also worked on Baldur’s Gate 3 as performance director for motion capture. She reports on X that the two met on set and finally got together after a year and a half of working together.
Now the two play together on Twitch, regularly inviting other actors such as Lae’zel, Dame Aylin and Isobel, and in addition to gameplay, they also share some aspects of their everyday life.
