Khaled Essanhouri is one of those people who die in silence and whose voice has become inaudible under the sounds of the din of war. His tragic disappearance embodies the hidden face of the war in Sudan.
He is not the first and will not be the last silent victim of this war. Many civilians died in this way, at home, for lack of medicine, water or food, in the total indifference of the generals who waged a merciless war for power and despite calls to stop the fighting.

Only four people were able to attend his funeral, including his brother. Unable to transport the remains to the neighborhood cemetery, Khaled Essanhouri was buried in front of his home. According to a relative of the musician, it was impossible to transport him to the hospital because no ambulance moved there.
Scores of Sudanese now live in Khartoum in fear of suffering the same fate, especially with the closure of shops and supermarkets and the scarcity of food.
Civil servants have not received their salaries for more than three months and they are caught up in the torments of war. They find themselves in a catastrophic situation. ” Those that the war won’t kill will starve “says a school teacher.
