And suffice to say that we are rather well off in France on this subject!
The famous American travel platform Condé Nast Traveler took an interest in the most beautiful streets in the world and published a ranking listing the 71 places you absolutely must visit one day. And its record has something to make us proud since it awarded first place to the French city, located in Alsace. Better yet, it is not a single street that is rewarded, but all the streets of the old town, which the tour operator describes as “picturesque”. This city is Colmar, “one of the most charming cities in Europe. The architecture, which seems untouched by time, with its colorful wooden structures”explain the experts of the prestigious platform.

The city is known for its half-timbered houses and canals which have earned it the nickname “Little Venice”.
But Colmar is not the only city to reap the laurels! Among the most beautiful streets in the world is, in 7th position, rue de l’Abreuvoir, in Paris. The travel platform welcomes “the aspect of a community of artists” of the Montmartre district, which has housed some of the biggest names in culture, such as Pierre-Auguste Renoir, Pablo Picasso and Amedeo Modigliani. That, coupled with the fancy stores, actually “one of the most charming neighborhoods in Paris”. Rue de l’Abreuvoir and rue des Saules stand out thanks to their colorful buildings and ivy-covered walls.
