Dolet Hill, 63, his wife Denton Burke, daughter Tanysha Drummonds and granddaughter Samantha Drummonds were stabbed to death in southeast London today. Neighbors called the police shortly before 2 am on Monday after hearing piercing screams from their terraced house in Bermondsey, southeast London. When armed policemen entered the property, they found four people with stab wounds. All of them were pronounced dead at the scene.
IT CAME FOR ONLY ONE WEEK
It was announced that Dolet is a retired nurse and is undergoing cancer treatment. Her granddaughter, Samantha Drummonds, was spending a week in Southwark with her mother, grandmother and other relatives as her house was being redecorated.
THE KILLER MAY BE A FAMILY
The murder was allegedly carried out by a man in his 20s believed to be from the same family, but officials speaking at the scene earlier on Monday said they believed the victims and the suspect knew each other, but it was “too early” to confirm any family ties.
THEY THOUGHT THEY WERE TAKEN hostage
Local residents said they heard screams for at least five minutes before armed police reached the area. Neighbors, who stated that they thought someone was holding someone hostage, stated that they were stunned when they heard the police, helicopter and ambulances.
As investigations continue, district police have invited anyone with information to contact them.
