The Social Democrats want the government to give the school board the task of strengthening school students’ resistance to misinformation.
– We want to modernize teaching in a source-critical approach, says Åsa Westlund, the party’s education policy spokesperson at a press conference.
She wants to see an increased focus on digital images, digital tools and social media in teaching that concerns source criticism. According to her, teaching today is mainly based on text-based sources.
– Of course, the students do not only encounter text, says Westlund.
S also wants to ensure that students on vocational training programs do not receive worse teaching in source criticism than those on theoretical educations.
