One of the main problems with electronic devices is recycling used batteries. French healthcare technology specialist Baracoda is tackling this concern by offering a battery-free digital thermometer. Thanks to its low consumption, the BCool is powered by kinetic energy: you only need to shake it for three seconds before each use. The temperature is displayed on a small LCD screen, and the device can connect to a smartphone to save the data in the associated app. The BCool should be available at the end of 2022.
