A dramatic relegation battle in the Premier League Leicester

Everton’s 1-0 win over Bournemouth was enough to secure a place in the league. 2016 champions Leicester were relegated to the Championship.

Leicester and Leeds will be relegated from the English Premier League along with Southampton. Everton stay in the league.

The last round was played in the Premier League today. Everton, Leicester and Leeds were still in danger of relegation, of which only one would survive. Southampton’s relegation was already confirmed earlier.

Everton went into the last round in the top three positions. A win would certainly keep it in the series and other results might be enough.

Everton faced Bournemouth at home, Leicester at home with West Ham and Leeds at home with Tottenham.

Leeds’ situation was already the most difficult beforehand and it became even more difficult when Harry Kane took Tottenham into the lead right at the start.

Liverpool and Brighton qualify for the Europa League. Aston Villa today secured seventh place and a place in the Conference League.
