The document detailing the charges has since been removed from the Fulton County Judicial Department website. The charges would concern Trump’s attempt to influence the 2020 election result in the state of Georgia.
A document appeared on the website of the Fulton County Court on Monday, according to which the former President of the United States Donald Trump would be indicted for trying to influence the outcome of the 2020 presidential election in the state of Georgia.
Only a moment later, however, the document was removed from the judiciary’s website. The Fulton County District Attorney then denied media reports that Trump had already been charged in the case. The prosecutor refuses to comment on the leaked document.
According to the document that was prematurely leaked or accidentally ended up on the Internet, Trump will be accused of, among other things, blackmail, conspiracy and making false statements regarding the election result in Georgia.
The investigation began when a telephone conversation between Trump and the person in charge of the presidential election in the state of Georgia in January 2021 by Brad Raffensperger sometimes a year to the public.
In the call, Trump said several times that he had won the presidential election in the state of Georgia. Trump also brought charges of voter fraud in the state, though multiple rounds of recounts confirmed he lost.
It is likely that the charges will be formally released later this week. According to CNN Fulton County Attorney Fan of Willis plans to present the results of their investigation to the grand jury from the beginning of the week.
