The fire broke out in a popular night club in the Atalayas area around 6 am local time. Spanish magazine El País reportsthat it is a complex of three nightclubs, where the fire has spread from one nightclub to another.

According to the BBC, Ballesta says that people arrive near Teatre looking for information about their relatives.
