    One of those who was shot at Rosengård in Malmö on New Year’s Eve is dead.

    Relatives have been notified.

    It was late on New Year’s Eve that two 15-year-old boys were shot in a stairwell.

    Five boys and men between the ages of 15 and 20 are in custody.

    On New Year’s Day, the supermarkets lowered the price by 75 öre to SEK 16.74 for a liter of 95-octane petrol. The background is an equally large tax cut, including VAT.

    On the other hand, the diesel price has been raised by 14 öre, of which a tax increase of 11 öre, to 18.14 kroner according to the recommended prices at manned stations.

    Electric car owners will taste a tax increase. At the turn of the year, the electricity tax was raised to almost 55 öre per kWh, including VAT.

    27 people, including women and children, have died at sea off Tunisia after two boats capsized. 83 people could be rescued from the sea, according to the rescue service.

    The passengers were found off the island of Kerkennah on Tunisia’s east coast. They all came from sub-Saharan African countries and had Europe as their target.

    Kerkennah is a common point of departure for migrant boats traveling across the Mediterranean with the main destination Italy.

    SJ cancels departures between Stockholm and Gothenburg

    SJ announces on Thursday that ice formation on lines means that no trains can pass through Laxå.

    – We have been forced to cancel five departures between Stockholm and Gothenburg, says Johannes Cleris at SJ’s press service.

    Regional trains are also affected.

    – We try to turn them around where it stops. Then we run buses in between, says Cleris.

    According to SJ, they are waiting for the Swedish Transport Administration to remove the ice from the lines, which means that the trains are not getting any power.

    – It took many hours yesterday to remove the ice, says Cleris.

    Many dead in Israeli airstrikes in Gaza

    Authorities in the Hamas-controlled Gaza Strip state that 25 people, including several children, were killed in Israeli airstrikes during Thursday night.

    One of the attacks took place west of the city of Khan Yunis in the southern Gaza Strip, where a refugee tent camp was hit by an airstrike. There, 11 people were killed, among them the head of the Gaza police forces and a deputy police chief.

    According to Israel’s military, the deputy police chief was responsible for collaborating with Hamas’ military wing and for planning attacks against Israeli forces.

    A further 14 people are said to have been killed in two other attacks on the Gaza Strip.

    Despite the New Year’s weekend turning bloody as Israel attacked Palestinian targets, Israeli Defense Minister Israel Katz has threatened to further escalate attacks in Gaza.
