MSF denounces the Israeli operation in the West Bank
The NGO Doctors Without Borders (MSF) denounced the “extremely precarious” situation on Monday of the Palestinians displaced by the Israeli military operation in progress in the north of the occupied West Bank. The army launched on January 21, two days after the entry into force of a truce agreement into the Gaza Strip, an operation targeting the Palestinian armed groups in the north of this territory occupied by Israel since 1967. According to the United Nations, this offensive has moved some 40,000 inhabitants.
The situation of these displaced people “forcibly” is “extremely precarious”, said in an MSF press release which operates on the spot by distributing in particular hygiene and food packages. These Palestinians are “deprived of adequate shelters, basic services and access to health care”, continues the NGO. “The situation in mental health is alarming,” said MSF, including a patient, quoted in the press release, evokes “deaf anxiety, deep pain in the heart”. “Such a magnitude of forced displacements and destruction of the camps has not been observed for decades” in the West Bank, declares the director of operations of MSF Brice de la Vingne. “People cannot go home because Israeli forces have blocked access to camps, destroying houses and infrastructure,” he added. “Israel must end this situation and the humanitarian response must be reinforced,” he concludes.

Gaza: “Suffering must stop,” says the head of European diplomacy in Israel
“The suffering must stop,” said the head of European diplomacy Kaja Kallas on Sunday evening when she arrived in Israel, where she will claim a “immediate return” from the cease-fire agreement to stop the “destruction of Gaza”. “The military offensive of Israel caused appalling losses in human lives. As long as this war continues, the two parties are losers,” she said, before successively meeting the Israeli and Palestinian leaders on Monday.
“Israel has the right to defend itself, but must respect the life of civilians and humanitarian law. Threats of annexation of certain parts of Gaza are unacceptable,” she said. “During my interviews with Israeli and Palestinian leaders, I will insist on the urgency of negotiations. All hostages must be released immediately. The suffering must stop. The destruction of Gaza only fueling radicalization,” she added.
The European Union’s diplomatic manager must meet Israeli President Israeli Isaac Herzog, the Minister of Foreign Affairs Gideon Saar on Monday, as well as the head of the opposition Yair Lapid. She will also go to the Palestinian territories to speak with President Mahmoud Abbas and Prime Minister Mohammad Mustafa.
