To advance the fight against cancer, the Institut Curie is launching, on March 14, its new major national mobilization campaign called “A daffodil against cancer”.

To support research and medical innovation, the Institut Curie invites individuals, associations, companies and communities to mobilize alongside it, thanks to the many events organized throughout France and online.

Campaign emphasizes screening and early diagnosis

The Institut Curie has chosen for this edition to dedicate its campaign “A Daffodil Against Cancer” screening and early diagnosis.

And for good reason: 40% of cancers detected each year could be avoided thanks to prevention (tobacco, overweight, etc.).

Prevention is essential, screening and early diagnosis too. The earlier we detect the appearance of a tumor or a recurrence, the greater the chances of recovery. And the stake is all the more important in people at risk. More than ever, we need everyone’s mobilization to get ahead of cancer“, specifies in this respect Professor Steven Le Gouill, director of the Hospital Complex of the Institut Curie.

But to do this,”we need the mobilization of our fellow citizens to go even faster and even further“, specifies the Institute, which aims to raise 1 million euros to support research and innovation.

Generosity is essential since it represents 33% of cancer research funding at the Institut Curie.”

In order to finance this project, several events will take place throughout the month of March: giant luminous daffodil, sale of daffodils, “solidarity bike” workshop, assembly of mini daffodils in LEGO bricks… and an entire village dedicated to the campaign. , nestled at the foot of the Panthéon, in the heart of Paris.
