In the men’s 10-match discus throw, a special sight was seen on Thursday, when Montenegro Darko Pešić performed in the throwing ring with bare feet. At the same time, the 32-year-old athlete’s calves, which were in really bad shape, were visible.

Sports expert Jaakko Ojaniemi is a former top class decathlete. In 2005, Ojaniemi, who finished ninth at the World Championships in Helsinki, was completely new to throwing with bare feet.

– I have never tried. Usually, if the throwing shoe is too slippery, then sneakers are used. This was a completely new thing, Ojaniemi wondered.

For Pešić, throwing the puck with a lot of feet is a familiar task.

– It may seem special to you, but it’s typical for me. I don’t like fast casting rings. They are too slippery for me and I don’t feel confident, Pešić said.

In a fast ring, he is more confident without shoes.

Match to finish

Pešić threw his season’s best 44.78.

– I heard someone say that it is (with a lot of kicks) an unofficial world record. However, that is not true as my record is 48.20.

Pešić also revealed the reason why her heels are in such a nasty looking condition. In the last six years, he has managed to finish 10 games only once. There is a second time in the search in Rome.

– I have had a lot of problems with my Achilles tendons. I haven’t done as well as I wanted to here, but I’m proud that I can even get a match to the finish.
