The Twitch streamer Kevin “Papaplatte” Teller (27) has been on a “snow trip” in Switzerland with colleagues like Rumathra and Renzmann in the last few days. After surviving the Canadian wilderness in 7 vs. Wild, he’s now worrying his fans. In one clip it looks as if he was falling into a frozen lake: in fact he just fell “onto” the lake. Still looked dangerous.
What does Papaplatte do?
Papaplatte is often referred to as the German xQC:
Clip from Papaplatte scares viewers and goes viral
This clip has people worried: The Twitch clip is from Saturday, January 27th: Papaplatte rides his bike close to a frozen lake. You see the lake from Papaplatte’s first-person perspective.
He still says, even without any anglicisms: “Let’s go slowly. Look, Wieland is in here. You can’t walk on it. Okay, slowly, slowly, slowly. My rear wheel?”
Then the 27-year-old loses control of his bike and tilts to the right out of the picture while screaming in horror.
In the clip it looks like he fell into the lake, perhaps broke through the ice and is now under water. By playing a recorded clip with the connection message briefly away, the situation looks even more dramatic.
The clip has 105,000 views and may well worry some viewers.
What does this look like from another perspective? The streamer Rumathra, who is addressed as “Wieland” in the clip, also films the scene. You can see him nudging Papaplatte to loosen his rear wheel.
From this perspective, the all-clear is given: the layer of ice on the lake, which supposedly you can’t walk on, held up and the fall was probably relatively mild.
Papaplatte also reported from Switzerland via Twitter: The trip was wonderful, but stressful.
How is the clip discussed? On Livestreamfails you don’t know Papaplatte as much as you do here, so you’re surprised about the campaign:
Well, Papaplatte is safe on his podcast Edeltalk, unless he invites the wrong guest:
