A bug in Escape from Tarkov deletes your progress

A bug in Escape from Tarkov causes your quest progress to be reset. The developers have to react quickly.

What kind of error is this? It is a bug that resets your quest progress in Escape from Tarkov (EFT) and prevents you from completing missions – even if you complete the entire quest chain.

Here you can see the trailer “On the Edge of Darkness”:

What is the cause of the bug? Escape from Tarkov has an Arena mode that can be purchased and downloaded separately from the developer’s website. This mode caused the bug in the normal Escape from Tarkov, as both modes synchronize.

This synchronization now ensures that in the normal Escape from Tarkov your mission progress is always reset and you keep your rewards, but do not get any quest progress.

What have the developers done? At first, players were only able to get around the bug by not starting ETF Arena, which would prevent synchronization from taking place. However, the developers have since announced via X that synchronization has been temporarily suspended to protect you from losing your progress.

This means you can continue playing active missions and make progress, which will then be saved. However, starting new missions or completing current missions is not yet possible.
It is also unclear whether the lost progress will be restored.
