A boy is missing for 2 months – then his brother discovers him in a Twitch stream

The streamers Clix and Lacy showed themselves eating live on Twitch. They probably didn’t expect that they would contribute to solving a missing person case. But a missing teenager simply wandered into their stream.

What kind of stream was that? Twitch streamers Clix and Lacy are actually known for Fortnite content. However, on July 2, 2024, they hosted an IRL (“in real life”) stream in which they rocked Miami together.

These types of streams are notorious for being difficult to control and for the fact that unforeseen things can happen – as was the case with Clix and Lacy’s stream. The two were sitting outside a café when they were approached by a young man in green swimming trunks.

Due to the boy’s unusual behavior, the chat quickly suspected that he had consumed illegal substances. You can see a recording of the interaction on Twitch.

The streamers themselves seemed a bit taken aback and amused by the incident, but didn’t seem to think anything of it – until Lacy received an email from the teenager’s brother.

The ways of the Internet are often inscrutable – as in the example of this viral Twitch clip:

Streamers help find missing teenagers

What was going on with the boy? The teenager is said to have been the missing Troy Coleman, who had been missing since mid-May 2024. He was last seen on the morning of May 17 in his hometown of Flint, Michigan.

The missing man’s brother apparently recognized Troy on stream and contacted Lacy, who made the story public on X. In a post on July 3, the streamer shared a picture of the boy and an email he had received.

The writer says he is Trent Coleman, the missing man’s older brother. He saw Clix and Lacy making fun of the boy on their stream. The brother clarifies that Troy is not under the influence of drugs, but is suffering from schizophrenia.

Tens of thousands of children and young people disappear in Germany every year – most of them reappear on their own. The Missing Children Initiative provides information and helps with missing persons cases. If you are missing a child or young person or think you have seen a missing child, you can call the free hotline 116000 turn around.

Trent also reports that the case of his missing brother has now been handed over to the homicide department – so the family probably had to assume that the boy was no longer alive and was possibly the victim of a crime.

Lacy wrote that he was unsure whether to make the story public, but decided to do so in the hope of helping to find the boy.

How did the story end? In another post on July 4, Lacy reported that he had contacted the brother and told him which hotel Troy was staying in. The boy has now been found and is being returned to his family in Michigan.

The streamer writes: “The power of the internet is insane, thanks guys.” (via X)

The Flint Township Police Department confirmed on Facebook that the missing boy had been found and that they were working to bring him home safely. It is not known how the teenager got to Miami, about 2,300 kilometers away.

In this case, it was a great stroke of luck that Lacy and Clix had the stream running while they were eating. But not everyone is thrilled about appearing unexpectedly on a stream – and some react anything but positively to suddenly having a camera in their face: German Twitch streamer wants to show Paris, films the wrong man and suddenly has to run away
