An inmate at Baumettes prison in Marseille had his throat slit by a fellow inmate.
An inmate from Baumettes prison, a penitentiary establishment located in the 9th arrondissement of Marseille, was very violently attacked on the night of Wednesday October 9 to Thursday October 10. The man’s throat was slit by his fellow cell inmate, according to information from BFMTV, confirmed this morning by the Minister of Justice, on the 24-hour news channel.
A police source told the newspaper Valeurs Actuelles that the suspect used a broken porcelain bowl to use as a weapon. With a sharp piece, the man would have “almost decapitated him”. The newspaper adds that according to its sources, the “man died on the spot”.
The suspect, whose name is Abdelhalim M., and who is said to be 25 years old, was brought to the Marseille Evêché police station so that he could explain this extremely violent crime.
