A boss in Dragon’s Dogma 2 will stop the fight if you insult his honor – reward you with a secret cutscene

A boss that you encounter later in the game of Dragon’s Dogma 2 has a hidden cutscene. To trigger it, you have to insult the opponent’s pride.

Spoiler alert: This boss does not appear right at the beginning of Dragon’s Dogma 2, but rather towards the end of the game. You have been warned!

Which boss is it? You will meet the enemy Raghnall in the course of your adventure in the game. He is the bodyguard of Ser Phaesus, also not a pleasant person to be around.

You will meet Raghnall for the fight in the Moonlight Tower. This is relatively late in the game. Previously, you had to decide for or against him in the quest “Tensions on the Highway”.

No matter what you decide, Raghnall wants to know in the Moonlight Tower: He challenges you to a fight. Unlike usual, the vassals, who also like to gossip about you, do not support you. They think it’s only fair that you go alone against the boss. Quite honorably, one against one.

There is a hidden cutscene at the end of the fight

How do you unlock the secret scene? Most players will jump into the fight motivated and, depending on the character’s strength, defeat Raghnall quite quickly.

Raghnall will then say a few words to you before he dies. However, things are different if you choose the peaceful path.

As Reddit user Agent_Gentlemen shows in a video, it’s worth just appearing to fight the battle. Instead of hitting hard and decimating the opponent’s life bar, the user parried Raghnall’s attacks and did not inflict any damage on himself.

If you hold out like this for about two minutes, the secret sequence will be triggered. The fight ends and Raghnall, frustrated, admits that it’s no fun. He complains that you are not really “present” in the fight, so you are just playing with him.

Raghnall also reveals that it wasn’t his job to kill you at all. He would only have tried that out of personal interest. Nevertheless, he is looking for a worthy opponent. Offended, Raghnall moves away from Dannen, gives you another key and hopes to get a real fight the next time they meet.

What does the community think about this? Under the post on Reddit, players talk about their experiences with the fight.

  • Chaz-Natlo says: “I accidentally threw him off the bridge.” – of course this doesn’t trigger the secret cutscene.
  • “I only found out because I decided to play with him once. This seems to be the intended route, as long as he just doesn’t die after about three hits. And then that final confrontation never happens,” Darklight645 laments.
  • Churro1912, on the other hand, writes: “This is the cutscene I got because I was an archer and had to do spam heals.”
  • Incidentally, you cannot trigger the secret sequence by first killing Raghnall and then reviving him with a Lazarus Stone. In this case he gets up again, but you don’t get to see the hidden scene.

But he might still be offended, after all, you defeated the proud warrior. By the way, only 1.6% of Dragon’s Dogma 2 players have unlocked a specific achievement – although it is relatively easy to get.
