Many families are affected by this good news.
The Family Allowance Fund has not (yet?) informed the beneficiaries. And yet, this is news that all the households concerned will be able to rejoice in. One of the aids paid by Caf has been increased since 1er April 2024, discreetly, which benefits around 800,000 people throughout the country. A natural increase – like other allowances – since it is linked to inflation recorded over the previous year.
Among all the aid paid by the State to families, one helps support them in the first years following the arrival of a baby in their lives. An upheaval which leads, in particular, to significant expenses that not all households are able to easily assume. This is where Caf comes into its role of financial support.
In this context, many parents benefit from the Free Choice of Childcare Supplement (CMG). A helping hand paid each month to help pay for childcare. Whether he is placed in a crèche, whether he is looked after at home or with a childminder, the Caf allows you to lower the monthly bill thanks to this system. If the amount received varies depending on income, the aid is paid to a very large majority of parents since it is possible to earn 50,000 euros over a year and receive money from the Caf.
At the start of the month, the amount allocated to households benefiting from this allowance increased, for all different types of childcare, by 4.6%, or approximately 15 to 20 euros more each month. Which represents an annual increase of 200 euros on average. Here, for each type of childcare, how much you will receive in addition to the Caf starting this month:
- Childminder or home care for a child under 3 years old: from €8.81 to €23.28 more per month
- Childminder or home care for a child aged 3 to 6: from €4.40 to €11.64 extra per month
- Family nursery for children under 3 years old: from €23.48 to €35.22 extra per month
- Family nursery for children aged 3 to 6 years: from €11.74 to €17.61 extra per month
- Micro-crèche for children under 3 years old: from €30.81 to €42.55 extra per month
- Micro-crèche for children aged 3 to 6 years: from €15.40 to €21.28 extra per month
This larger Caf payment will arrive, as usual, at least two days after you have filed your employee’s salary declaration if you employ someone. Otherwise, this will be paid directly to the organization looking after your child.
According to the latest figures from the Family Allowance Fund (as of December 2022), 790,495 households benefit from the system throughout France. Generally, parents use childcare until the age of 3 since, after that, schooling for children is compulsory. However, some may still have recourse to a childminder or home care in the evenings or on Wednesdays.
