Silo is one of the best science fiction series of recent years and season 1 even made it into the editors’ list of the best series of 2023. The second season is currently running and seasons 3 and 4 have already been broadcast by the streaming service Apple TV+ ordered.
The basic idea of Silo is very simple: In the future, the earth’s surface is toxic and people live in a silo 144 stories deep underground. Strict rules apply here and the world outside is a big mystery. Over the course of the first and current second seasons, some secrets are uncovered that turn the survivors’ world view upside down.

The second season of the science fiction series comes to an end on Friday
Season 2 again consists of ten episodes, which are released on Fridays on Apple TV+. Nine have already run. Here you can watch a clip from the season finale, in which Tim Robbins’ character Bernard, IT boss and representative of the status quo in the silo, takes center stage.

One of the big mysteries of season 2 is hinted at in the penultimate episode. Then Lukas (Avi Nash) finds a tunnel under the silo. However, if he tells someone about it, a so-called “safeguard” will be initiated – according to a computer voice. A protective measure or safeguard that sounds pretty dangerous. But what is it about? In an interview with Collider, showrunner Graham Yost makes us curious:
Episode 9 ends with: ‘Do you know what the Safeguard is, Mr. Kyle?’ ‘Yes I know that.’ Well, we don’t know what it is, but we’ll get an idea in the next episode, and it’s not good. It’s not a good thing. It’s a big, bad thing.
