In an article published in the medical journal “Neurology” of the American Academy of Neurology, an unborn twin was removed from the brain of a 1-year-old baby. The details of the incident, which has been reported only 18 times in the medical literature, are shocking…
Stuck INSIDE HIS BROTHER’S BRAIN
According to the case report, researchers who examined the baby’s skull with various imaging methods found that his brain was compressed and fluid accumulation occurred.
Later examinations revealed that the baby actually had a twin sibling while in the womb, but the second baby did not develop enough and got stuck inside his sibling’s skull.
Doctors reported that the fetus’s upper limbs, bones and even nails were developing, likely continuing to grow for months while inside its sibling in the womb.
ONE OF THE 18 CASES SEEN SO FAR
The fetus, approximately 10 centimeters long, was removed surgically. The case was recorded as one of 18 cases reported in the medical literature to date.
Also in China, in 2015, the fetus of his unborn twin was found in the testicles of a male baby. The 20-day-old baby was taken to the hospital after his scrotum started to swell after birth.
