For this last observation of the year, a thin lunar crescent will be visible above the southeast horizon, in the very first light of thedawn around 6:30 a.m. UT.
To its left a little lower, you will find the planet Mars.
Come back to the Moon, and look below it, very slightly to the left. This red point is not Mars but the star Antares, L’star the brightest of the constellation Scorpio.
A clear horizon is recommended for this observation.
