Mickael Braure eliminated summary and notes

TOP CHEF 2022. One of the most formidable competitors of this season 13 was eliminated from Top Chef this Wednesday, May 18, 2022. The recap and the notes.

[Mis à jour le 18 mai 2022 à 23h35] The tension went up a notch in episode 14 of Top Chef. Five candidates were still in competition this Wednesday, May 18, 2022. And the stakes were high, since the outcome of the episode determined which of them would participate in the quarter-finals of this 2022 edition. As a reminder, Mickaël and Pascal competed for the brigade of Philippe Etchebest, Arnaud and Sébastien in Glenn Viel’s team and Louise participated with Hélène Darroze. Paul Pairet no longer had a candidate in competition at this stage of the M6 competition.

The first test of this 14th episode of Top Chef saw the return of a former winner of the competition: Jean Imbert demanded that the candidates revisit the vol-au-vent, a classic dish of French gastronomy. The exercise is particularly perilous for Louise, who is uncomfortable with palace cuisine and the classics. She also has a lot of trouble making her sauce, getting the dosages wrong twice. However, his proposal appeals John Imbert, who decides to automatically qualify her for the quarter-finals. By finishing in last place in this event, Sébastien is automatically sent as a last chance.

During the second test, Mickaël, Pascal and Arnaud had to sublimate the tomato. And this time, the brigade leaders blindly tasted the different preparations. For the occasion, chefs were called in to coach the three candidates: Alexandre Mazzia lent a hand to Pascal, Alexandre Gauthier supported Mickaël, and Dominique Crenn helped Arnaud. The latter was particularly revealed in this event by offering a variation of the tomato under different temperatures. He won a favorite from the brigade leaders and easily qualified for the quarter-finals. Pascal joins him in the rest of the competition.

The last chance of this 14th episode of Top Chef therefore saw a revitalized Sébastien face off against Mickaël, discouraged by the “failures” of the two previous events. The two candidates clashed over the theme of veal, and Philippe Etchebest’s candidate decided to make a radical proposal: a veal tartare, covered in black squid ink. However, Sébastien’s more comforting proposal prevailed (he joined Paul Pairet’s brigade), and Mickaël was eliminated from the competition just before the quarter-finals. The candidate did not hide his sadness, and his team leader, Philippe Etchebest, was visibly very moved at the sight of his foal leaving the kitchens of Top Chef: “I am falling from above. You are a great guy in addition to be a great cook… I’m sad to see you go, really”, conceded his team leader, who hoped to take Mickaël to the final. Philippe Etchebest even got up to take the eliminated candidate in his arms at the end of this episode, a gesture rarely seen in Top Chef.

Which candidate of this episode 14 of Top Chef seduced you the most? Which of their achievements interested you the most? On the contrary, which participant of the culinary competition still in competition on M6 did you like the least in this episode? Below, you can vote for your favorite contestant from this episode while the show airs. Last week, it was Pascal who won the vote with 60% of votes in his favor, against 48% in favor of Mickaël.

For the 2022 season, Philippe Etchebest (blue brigade), Hélène Darroze (red brigade) and Paul Pairet (purple brigade) are returning to the jury. I did not expect it at all. Why me What prompted their decision? What did I do wrong? I didn’t get an answer.” He is replaced by Glenn Viel who, according to information from Télé Loisirs, did not fail to contact his predecessor before filming, for correction.
