A close match awaits Sweden when the Nations League kicks off in June. Four matches in ten days, and on Wednesday Janne Andersson presented the players who will take on the task.
Several new names
And some changes were to be expected. Just a couple of days ago, Marcus Danielsson said that he will not continue in the national team. There were also reports that Zlatan Ibrahimovic refused, and Albin Ekdal is injured.
In the trio’s absence, there were of course a couple of new faces in Janne Andersson’s squad. Lilles Gabriel Gudmundsson and Djurgårdens Hjalmar Ekdal are a couple of completely new names, and who were not in the latest national team collection.
– The squad feels tickling. It feels good and exciting with Gabriel Gudmundsson (Lille). It was a bit unexpected that Hjalmar Ekdal is involved, but Janne Andersson was clear that it is about seeing and learning, says the expert Daniel Nannskog to SVT.

Midfielder Alexander Milosevic is also involved. But despite the fact that some new names are included in the squad, Daniel Nannskog is looking for a crucial piece of the puzzle.
– I scream for a stable midfielder next to Victor Nilsson Lindelöf, he says and continues:
– Now Milosevic (AIK) and Carl Starfelt (Celtic) have the chance. But I want that given midfielder, and we do not have that. I hope it can crystallize now during the Nations League, that we get a new bastard. We really need that in the national team.
Sweden starts the Nations League with an away match against Slovenia on June 2.
