– Then together we have another platform to work from outside the Nordic region. When I talk to my colleagues in Norway and Denmark, they say that it is another reason to welcome Sweden and Finland into this, says Anna Hallberg to TT.
According to Hallberg, Swedish and Finnish NATO membership can also help attract investment to Sweden.
– With the predictability of having made this difficult, but important and right decision. Then the game plan is there for those who want to invest in Sweden or Finland when we have a Nordic context also when it comes to security policy.
When we no longer have Russia as a supplier of certain important minerals and inputs, Sweden needs to work for expanded trade agreements with other like-minded countries, such as New Zealand, Australia, Chile, Mexico and the USA, Hallberg continues.
TT: Does it also mean that we should stop trading with certain countries at the same time?
– Russia in particular is definitely such a country that we do everything to isolate financially with sanctions packages. This also applies to Belarus, for example. But with most countries, we want to continue to maintain open trade despite views on democracy. We also trade with difficult countries and believe that trade is a springboard into dialogue on democracy and human rights.
