Russia announces the expulsion of two Finnish diplomats. The Russian Foreign Ministry said this on Tuesday.
According to the Russian Foreign Ministry, two diplomats from the Finnish Embassy in Moscow will be deported as a protest that Finland has deported two Russian diplomats as part of the EU’s anti-Russian sanctions policy.
In a statement, the Russian Foreign Ministry also said it was protesting against “Finland’s offensive activities against Russia”. This apparently refers to Finland’s application for NATO membership, the news agency Reuters mentions (you’re switching to another service).
The Russian Foreign Ministry justifies the deportation of diplomats in its statement on Finland’s “anti-Russian policy”, which, according to the ministry, is reflected in the way in which Finland provides arms assistance to Ukraine.
