Emphasizing that it is very important to make changes in lifestyle in order to prevent hypertension, Koçer said, “The most important factor in the prevention of hypertension is the increase in our movement, the restriction of the foods we eat, especially the use of salt. Among the treatment methods, there are diet treatments that we use especially the Dash diet. It is very important to pay attention to a salt-free diet, cholesterol and fatty foods. If there is an uncontrollable hypertension among the treatment methods, drugs for this are given to the patients. If there are familial risk factors, blood pressure should be measured at least once every three months. Salt intake should be limited, attention should be paid to diet, movements should be increased, and regular exercise should be done.
