Three charged after fatal stabbing in Grand Bend Police

Three people from Perth County are charged – two with second-degree murder – after a Friday evening stabbing in Grand Bend, police say.

According to the Lambton County OPP, emergency crews responded to an assault in a parking lot on Huron Street around 10 pm The victim, identified by police as Zacharey Hartman, 27, of Exeter, was transported to hospital were he was pronounced dead.

After information about a suspect vehicle was shared with neighboring counties, Perth County OPP members later arrested three people, police said.

Two people from Stratford, an 18-year-old and 22-year-old, are charged with second degree murder. A third person from West Perth, 21, is charged with accessory after the fact to murder.

The accused have been held in custody pending a bail hearing, police said.

An investigation continues under the direction of the Criminal Investigations Branch with assistance from the Lambton OPP Crime Unit and Forensic Identification Services in conjunction with the Office of the Chief Coroner for Ontario.
