The new PS5 model has appeared. Sony has made a notification for the new Playtation 5 model in Japan. It is unknown if there will be an update on the console?
It was revealed during a Q&A session by Sony that took place recently. new PS5 model revealed output. In April, the company received new design certification for a new ‘CFI-1200’ series model with updated radio equipment. The product has been given a design certificate by the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications of Japan, which ensures that radio and wireless communication equipment comply with certain technical standards.

Sony CFO Hiroki Totoki said last year that the company was considering several solutions to help it deal with the global hardware component shortage, potentially including changing designs or sourcing secondary suppliers.
The topic was brought up again at a Sony financial results Q&A session this week. During the event, Totoki was asked what measures Sony is taking to combat the semiconductor shortage that Intel recently warned about.
While Totoki’s response doesn’t refer specifically to the PS5, “in different areas…we changed our source of supply and changed our design, among others. So, we have the ability to cope. Therefore, I think we have a good perspective on parts supply.”

Also, Taiwanese website DigiTimes claimed that suppliers, including semiconductor foundry TSMC, are planning to start producing the redesigned PS5 console between the second and third quarter of this year.
The PS5 output hardware uses a CFI-1XXX model numbering scheme, while the revised hardware released in 2021 uses a CFI-11XX scheme. For this reason, we think that the emerging 1200 series may also be a renewed PS5 model.
