North Korea has confirmed the country’s first corona infection and declared a serious national emergency. According to state media reports, a coronavirus omicron transformation has been observed in the capital Pyongyang.
North Korea has not previously admitted any cases of corona. There are no official reports that any North Koreans have been vaccinated, Reuters reports.
The country of 25 million is known to have refused the coroner vaccines provided to it by the World Health Organization, China and Russia.
Infections were found in people with fever symptoms in Pyongyang. The exact number of cases or possible sources of infection has not been reported.
Korona is already in North Korea, experts estimate
North Korean leader Kim Jong-un has imposed a coronary embargo on the entire country. Kim calls for tighter border controls as well as quarantine measures. North Korea has so far said its austerity measures have allowed it to remain corona-free.
Experts in South Korea and the United States, for example, have previously estimated that the corona pandemic has also erupted in North Korea, as its neighbors have been widely reported in neighboring Korea and China.

Part of the North Korean capital Pyongyang has been closed for two days, according to NK News in South Korea. According to the site, numerous sources in the city have also heard of panic shopping and uncertainty.
The state media has previously reported on ways to prevent the country’s epidemic, and ordinary citizens have occasionally used face masks in official photographs.
