We learn in 2018 that Catherine Laborde has been ill for many years. She announces that she suffers from Lewy body disease, a type of dementia close to Alzheimer’s or Parkinson’s. During an interview with Audrey Crespo-Mara in 2020, she specifies suffering from memory loss : “There I have just spoken to you, I no longer know what I said half an hour earlier.” She also explains that she does not recognize her husband or her daughters sometimes. “I never know who is in the room, who is leaving, who is coming in.
