The European Football Championships garnered extensive coverage of Finns on ‘s channels last summer.
‘s broadcasts from last summer’s European Football Championship have been awarded at the Golden Venla in the Sports and Events category at the Venla Gala.
For Finland, the Games were historic, as the men’s national football team played in the European Championships for the first time in its history.
– As in many other things, the most important thing in sports is the story. We were honored to bring out the story of the Finnish national football team. Thanks to Huuhkaji for their cooperation and for giving us great experiences, producer Antti Selleari said in his thank you speech.
Also nominated in the sports and events category was Big Brother and another candidate from , the Tokyo Olympics.
– The majority of the team will be contracting these games for a few months last summer, so this Venla is also for the Tokyo Olympics. It is admirable to see how people manage to work hard and with what kind of ambition they do their work even in difficult conditions, Selleari praised.
