Health Minister Sajid Javid stated in his statement that 2 people were quarantined with their households.
BULK TESTS WILL BE DONE
Stating that the two cases are “linked”, Javid reported that mass tests will be held in Chelmsford and Nottingham, where the cases are seen.
On the other hand, Javid announced that Angola, Mozambique, Malawi and Zambia will be added to the “red list” for travel starting at 04:00 on Sunday.
Emphasizing that they will not hesitate to take further measures if necessary, the Minister of Health announced that Prime Minister Boris Johnson will hold a press conference today with the relevant health authorities regarding the measures.
Pointing out that the new cases are a real reminder that the Kovid-19 epidemic is far from ending, Javid urged everyone to get vaccinated.
In his statement on November 26, Javid stated that the new variant may be more contagious than the Delta strain, and that existing vaccines may be less effective against the variant.
TRAVEL PROHIBITION FROM COUNTRIES
The UK decided to impose a travel ban on the country after the new variant was detected in South Africa on 25 November.
Following this, on November 26, many countries, including Turkey, the USA, Russia, Italy, Canada, Japan, Israel, Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates, imposed travel restrictions on South Africa.
