DuckDuckGo, the popular search engine that respects the privacy of its users, will soon have its own web browser for desktop machines. In any case, this was announced by Gabriel Weinberg, CEO of DuckDuckGo in a post published on the company’s blog.
A privacy-friendly desktop browser
The search engine, which already has a mobile web browser on Android and iOS and an extension for Chrome and Firefox, will therefore have its variation for Desktop.
DuckDuckGo will not be superfluous and will offer the essentials to protect user privacy while browsing. The firm indicates that it has incorporated no complex parameters or misleading alerts. The browser will also not offer several levels of protection as may exist with the competition.
The existing functions on mobile should therefore be available in this desktop version: blocking trackers in the entire navigation, protecting e-mails using its e-mail forwarding service, etc. and above all, the possibility of deleting all browsing data in one click.

Rather than creating an umpteenth fork from Chromium, DuckDuckGo wants to create from scratch a browser that will be based on the rendering engine natively used in the operating system on which it runs. It should therefore rely on Edge (Chromium) on Windows, and WebKit on macOS.
