Chess tables are not only installed in the Netherlands. The Urban Chess initiative goes beyond national borders. Also in Germany, Austria, Spain and Uganda people are copying the public chess tables. “In Latin America in El Salvador it is also being picked up and people are looking at how things are going here in the Netherlands to copy it there.”
