Apex Legends is entering its thirteenth season. One more for Respawn Entertainment’s hit Battle Royale which gets a whole bunch of new stuff and a partial Storm Zone map makeover.
[Mis à jour le 3 mai 2022 à 10h56] In the battle royale war, only one will remain. And it’s very likely to be Apex Legends. Respawn Entertainment’s hero-shooter continues to seduce and exceeded the 100 million player mark in 2022, and is currently celebrating the start of its thirteenth season. A season marked by the arrival of a new legend in the Arena and by many changes to the Storm Zone map. If you want to learn a little more about the new features that are coming with season 13, we tell you a little more below.
Season 13 of Apex Legends, admirably aptly named Rescue, will begin on May 10 and will be preceded by several story and gameplay trailers so that we can appreciate the extent of its novelties. For the moment, we have been able to discover the changes affecting the Storm Zone map and part of Newcastle’s skills on video in a gameplay trailer for season 13.
new legend
We told you in the introduction, a new legend will enter the Apex games, it is Newcastle who is none other than Jackson, the lost and then found brother of Bangalore. Newcastle is a legend who specializes in supporting his team, with defensive skills that we could see some elements of in the trailer above. He has a shield allowing him to protect part of his hitbox, offers the opportunity to move while protecting injured allies, and can deploy a huge defensive wall, probably his ultimate skill.
New card
Storm Zone will be deeply modified by the arrival of the Rescue season in Apex Legends. The tropical map returns to the forefront with new facilities and a few IMC bunkers full of loot and protected by enemies. But she was also disfigured by a gigantic creature, since struck down by legends. We imagine that the beaches of the map will therefore be made more attractive by the presence of this gigantic carcass, which will undoubtedly have to be explored in depth. Note also that Respawn has said that it wants to review the system of ranked games to “reward teamwork”. A system which had already been modified in season 11 and which will probably be further changed in depth.
It was requested as soon as the game was released in 2019, crossplay was finally implemented on Apex Legends in October 2020, and has since been active by default on all platforms. It does not affect your solo games, but defines the type of players you encounter when playing in squads with your friends. If you are all on the same platform, the players in front of you should mostly use the same console. If you are on different consoles, your lobbies will be populated by a mix of players from different platforms. Console players can optionally disable crossplay in game options.
