(Finance) – L‘Italian banking association since February it has been the recipient of cyber attacks. This is what ABI makes known in a note underlining that “the complaints have been presented to the Postal Police and the competent Authorities”.

The Association assures that it has “already activated all the actions for its own protection and that of the personnel data” and that it has adopted “all the measures for the further security of the infrastructures and data”.

The attack was claimed by the Vice Society ransomware group. In an announcement, the hackers said they requested a ransom for the encrypted data and showed screenshots containing sensitive financial information and confidential documents including credit card numbers, medical certificates and the association’s budget statements.
