By buying Fox for a check for 71.3 billion dollars – announced in 2017, the operation was finalized in 2019 – Disney obviously got its hands on a whole bunch of franchises such as Alien, Kingsman, X- Men, Independence Day, Deadpool or even Planet of the Apes. But the one that particularly interests us today is Avatar. Why ? For two reasons. The first is that we finally know the final title of the film, namely Avatar: The Way of Water. The second reason is that we know when and how the first trailer for James Cameron’s film will be released.

Indeed, during the CinemaCon which is currently taking place in Las Vegas, it was announced that it would be unveiled on May 4 at the same time as the release of Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness. More concretely, just before the screening of the film, the spectators present in the room will have the pleasure of discovering the trailer of Avatar: The Way of Water. An original way of doing things, knowing that, of course, the trailer will be posted later on the Web.


Considered the most anticipated film of 2022, Avatar: The Way of Water should act as a technical feat like its predecessor, the teams having in particular resorted to the performance capture under water. But James Cameron was not satisfied with that, since he also confided that the actors gave of themselves so that their emotions were as believable as possible. Thus, they lived a few days in the middle of the tropical forest to immerse themselves in the environment. In short, nothing was left to chance.

For the record, Avatar: The Way of Water will be released on December 14, 2022.
