A detachment from the Criminal Research Institute of the National Gendarmerie (IRCGN) has been sent to Ukraine to investigate war crimes attributed to Russian troops. Interview with Colonel Franck Marescal, director of the IRCGN.
For the past two weeks, the 18 IRCGN experts have been traveling across Ukraine to identify the bodies discovered, determine the causes of death and hand them over to the families. In particular, they have recognized skills in ballistics, explosives, DNA sampling and processing, and fingerprints. The team will remain in the field of war for an “indefinite period”.
