If there are only two basketball players in the Top 15 against 5 for football, the differences are less important between the stars in the NBA than in football, which is why there are many more players present in this ranking. Note that football is not even the second most represented sport.
Behind basketball (and especially the NBA in truth), there is another sport that has its origins and fans on the other side of the Atlantic: American football. 22 footballers are in the top 100, even if none is in the top 10 elsewhere.
