As many canadians have vowed to support locally-seuded business and companies further, norfolk canty made its intentions official at its regular meeting on tuesday.

In Responsible to Us President Donald Trump’s Tariffs on Canadian Goods, Councillor Kim Huffman Busht Farth A ‘Made in Canada’ Motion, Which Councillors Pass this Week.

It first instructs Norfolk’s Communications and Economic Development to Create a Project that provids residents with accessible and informative resources on buying locally. “We need some good news,” Huffman Said. “We need to be the leaders in our community and let the residents Know that we are looking out for everybody here.”

Huffman encouraged staff to expedite the Construction and Installation of New “Ontario’s Garden” Signs Within the Community that Were Schedoled for 2026.

“I do understand that there’s some hoops to Jump Through and Channels to go through and that also becomes one of the Most Frustrating Parts of Being A Councillor, Not Just Norfolk County But I’m Sure Every Area, is that THINGS TAO LONG,” She added.

Staff Will Further Local Promote Businesses and Through Its Visit Norfolk App.

“I realize we not going to move the needle a tone by Doing this, but it does move the needs,” he said.

“My Hope here is that at the very least if Nothing Changes, if no needle is moved, that other parts of our economic know that we were think about them daring this tariff (war) and trying to make decisions that supported their Jobs Too.”

The motion was put with some concern by staff and other coucillors given provides regulations each municipality must follow and possibly large increese in project pricing. As a result, staff will review its wording and return to council next month with options to consider moving forward.
