In Syria, the commission of inquiry responsible for investigating violence and massacres that occurred on the Syrian coast held its first press conference in Damascus on Tuesday, March 25. According to the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights, more than 1,600 civilians were killed, mainly alawites. This minority, from which the Assad clan comes, is considered faithful to the old regime. A first report must be submitted to the Syrian president within two weeks.
