Syria: In the Orkesh camp, the children of IS foreign fighters dream of freedom

Syria In the Orkesh camp the children of IS foreign

At the heart of the Orkesh camp, more than a hundred young boys of various nationalities – notably the French – are trying to rebuild their lives. Six years ago, they were arrested with their parents, members of the Islamic State group, when taken by Syrian Democratic Forces in Baghouz, the last Bastion of Daesh in Syria. These young people grew up in an environment marked by terrorism. Today, rehabilitation programs are set up to prepare them for their repatriation, while they are fighting to erase the stigma of the past and regain a life of freedom.
