During the band final last weekend, Johan Esplund visited SVT’s studio and already opened then to continue his career in IFK Vänersborg.
– There is quite a lot going on and as it looks, I will probably end up in Vänersborg.
And now it is clear.
– I feel that I have some good years in the body and will try to make the best of them, says Esplund to P4 West.
Esplund never returned to play this past season. Two weeks ago, he was told that Gripen Trollhättan chose not to extend the contract to rejuvenate the squad instead.
“Got a boring ending”
– I got a boring ending in Gripen with the injury and feel that I still have a drive and want to end my career in a neat way, says Esplund, who has written for two years with the opportunity for another option year.
– It’s fantastic. We get one of the best bandy players of all time. Johan has a huge knowledge and drive. What strikes me is his passion and glow to perform and the will to make their surroundings better, says Vänersborg coach Alexander Mayborn to his own website.
