The Choir, Made Up of Second- To Seventh-Graders from St. Angela Merici Elementary, Are Among A Select Group invited to be part of A New Recording by Train Triumph Vocalist and Guitarist Rik Emmett that Will Be Heard Across Canada On Music Monday 5.

The Annual Event, Which Takes Place The First Monday of May, is organized by the Coalition for Music Education in Canada to Celebrate “The Unifying Power of Music As Thousands of Canadians Join in Singing and Performing The Music Monday Anthem at their Schools and Other Community Events,”

St. Angela Merici Music Educator Jacquelyn McGlynn, Whose Choirs have participated in Music Monday Sale it Began in 2005, was thrulled when the coalition reached out feb. 18 to ask if the school’s choir, the Sammies, Wanted to be part of the featured recording.

The Sammies’ Performance and Those of Other School Chica Will Be Layered Into Recording of the Song by Emmett, Which Will Be Played Across Canada On Music Monday.

“We are thrulled to have the sammies from St. Angela Merici be part Our Official Music Monday Recording of Hold on By Triumph – Featuring A Brand New Arrangement and Vocals by Rik Emmett,” Said Stacey Sinclair, The Coalition’s Executive Director.

She added it is anticipated there will be 800 Registered events across Canada with about 200,000 Students participating.

Emmett has heard the local choir’s recording and was impressed.

In an interview with the metal voice, posted on blabbermouth.net this month, Emmett Recalls Sinclair Sending Him the Choir’s Performance.

“I GOT TO see this Choir in Chatham, A., Of Kids in Grade 2 and 3, and they all singing my Song,” He Said. “And it just works my mind that such a beauty thing can happen while i’m still around to joy it. It’s a cool thing.”

Asked if any choir members recognized the classic rock tune, mcglynn said, “I have a couple of old souls in the junior and intermediate choirs that knew it, but i also had som primary kids who kness it.”

Noting Choir Members Have Told Her About Singing The Song With Families, McGlynn Said, “This is the Epitome of A Perfect Music Monday Song, Bringing People Together Through Music, Generationally.”
