In Monster Hunter Wilds, too, the popular death gesture armor from the predecessors is back. To unlock them, you first have to get a dark cloth. We show you where you get it and how you use it.

What kind of material is that? Dark cloth (English “Sinister Cloth”) is a high-ranking material with which you can make the equally high-ranking death of the armor for you and your Palico. But to unlock the armor first, you have to find the item first.

So you get the material “dark cloth”

Unlike most materials in Monster Hunter Wilds, you can not get the dark cloth from a monster or find in the area. Instead, you have two ways to get the coveted item.

1. About barns

The most simplest way to get the material is through a barter trade. This is the easiest if you speak with Nata in any base camp.

There you can exchange the item via the following exchange dealer:

  • Kilama (Kunafa/Wind Plain)
    -> In exchange against the item “Great Windaloe”, which you can find in the wind level
  • Brillitzer (Wudwud-Versteck/Karminwald)
    -> In exchange against “ancient WyVersmünzen”, which you can find, for example, in endemic beings or in the sand
    • In a base camp you can carry out through Nata exchange with other areas

    Alternatively, you can also speak to the corresponding NPCs in the respective areas. However, the method via Nata is more effective.

    What can I do if the dealers don’t have the cloth? However, the dealers do not always have the dark cloth in stock, so you have to be a little patient.

    You can reset the dealers’ offer by using the “Rest” function in your tent or at a campfire. That costs you 300 guild points every time.

    2. About the material procurement

    With a very little chance, but without that you have to do something, the NPC Murtabak from Kunafa can get you the item by chance.

    For this, as soon as you have unlocked the material procurement, you put “prioritize rare materials” in the order settings in order to increase the chance. You can then regularly collect its materials procured in Nata.

    With a little luck, there is also a dark cloth.

    Insert dark cloth: forge the death gesture armor

    Once you have got a dark cloth, you automatically unlock the associated armor: 2 variants of the death gesture set α and for your palico the F death gesture set α:

    For each armor part you need 1 dark cloth and 2 additional materials. So there is a little patience if you want to do everything.
