Cycling: Mexican del Toro wins the semi-classic Milan-Turin

The Mexican Isaac del Toro (UAE) won the 106th edition of Milan-Turin, Italian semi-classic which traditionally served as a dress rehearsal for Milan-Sanremo, first monument of the year scheduled for Saturday March 22 on Saturday 22 March. Del Toro, 21, was ahead of the Briton Ben Tulett and the Norwegian Tobias Haaland Johannesen at the end of the 174 kilometers. Del Toro, who signs the fourth victory for his career, took advantage of the work of his British teammate Adam Yates, decisive in the second ascent of the Superga hill, 4.9 km long with an average elevation of 9.1%. None of Milan-Sanremo’s favorites took part in this edition of Milan-Turin, a race created in 1876.
